Operation Martello

On Wednesday 19th November, officers were out and about in Croydon Town Centre to tackle violent crime and drug dealing as part of Operation Martello. Operation Martello is a proactive operation to reduce crime in the town centre and improve public safety.

Following a foot chase, officers detained a male who was found with a machete and multiple wraps of Class A. He was subsequently arrested and charged. This is an example of the weekly work to get weapons off the street and keep the community safe.
